 e becoming increasingly present in our society. Video games open up a rich
  world of experiences that facilitate the expansion of our skills\, suppor
 t the celebration of our successes\, and allow us to fail without conseque
 nces. The educational sector has also been benefiting from such game world
 s. But does education also become more equitable through games? Due to the
  COVID pandemic\, a digitalization push has taken place in all education a
 reas that threaten to exacerbate existing inequalities. Can easily accessi
 ble digital learning games provide a remedy?</p>  <p>These are the questio
 ns that the international joint project “EU-FairPlay” is exploring dur
 ing several events at various European locations. The project starts with 
 an online <strong>kick-off event</strong> on the <strong>12th </strong
 >and <strong>13th </strong>of <strong>May 2022</strong>. The<strong> e
 vent is online </strong>and<strong> free of charge</strong> and offers 
 interested parties from the fields of Education\, Game Development and Med
 ia Education valuable insights into the development and educational use of
  digital games under the theme “<strong>Educational Equity in Digital Ga
 me Worlds</strong>“. Scientists and practitioners will report on current
  projects\, present research findings and discuss the future challenges of
  digital game-based learning. The program will be complemented by the keyn
 ote from <strong>Dr. Sylvester Arnab</strong> (Professor of Game Science
  at the Disruptive Media Learning Lab\, Coventry University).</p>  <p>The 
 event is organized by the <strong>Chair of Psychology of Learning with Di
 gital Media</strong> at the Chemnitz University of Technology\, the <str
 ong>Center for Open Digital Innovation and Participation</strong> (CODIP)
  at the Technische Universität Dresden\, and the <strong>Hector Research
  Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology</strong> at the Universit
 y of Tübingen.</p>  <p>Researchers participating at the event are affilia
 ted to the following institutions: Disruptive Media Learning Lab (Coventry
  University\, UK)\, Institute Competence Diagnostics (PH St. Gallen\, Swit
 zerland)\, Clinical Psychology (University of Innsbruck\, Austria)\, Facul
 ty of Education and Culture (Tampere University\, Finland)\, Learning Scie
 nces and Communication (LISEC\; University of Strasbourg\, France)\, Schoo
 l of Digital Technologies (Tallinn University\, Estonia)\, School of Commu
 nication\, Media &amp\; IT (Rotterdam University of Applied Science\, The 
 Netherlands). Some of the practice partners participating are: Netzwerk M
 edienpädagogik Sachsen\, Fachstelle für Jugendmedienkultur NRW\, Gamif
 y Now!\, game-Verband der deutschen Games-Branche e.V.\, Medienwelten.sc
 hule\, Hector Children’s Academies of Baden-Württemberg\, and Seriou
