SUMMARY:Uhlmann: Quantifying morphology across microscopy modalities
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Virginie Uhlmann\nInstitute of Speaker: EMBL-EBI\, Cam
 bridge\, UK\nTopics:\n\n Location:\n Name: MPI-CBG (MPI-CBG Auditorium)\n
   Street: Pfotenhauerstraße 108\n City: 01307 Dresden\n Phone: +49 351
 210-0\n Fax: +49 351 210-2000\nDescription: Modern microscopy generates i
maging data across a vast range of spatiotemporal scales at various resolu
tions\, broadening the extent of observable morphological features. Acknow
ledging that morphology plays a role at all scales in biological systems\,
and that these scales are interconnected\, our group is working towards t
he development of modality-agnostic methods for shape quantification. In t
his talk\, I will give a tour of our current efforts towards automating th
e extraction of quantitative morphology descriptors from a range of micros
copy images\, and towards proposing novel data analysis techniques to mine
  collections of such measurements.
