SUMMARY:Moser: The Dirac Semimetal RuO2 - From Topology to Functionality
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Simon Moser\nInstitute of Speaker: Universität Würzb
 urg\nTopics:\n\n Location:\n Name: IFW (D2E.27\, IFW Dresden)\n Street:
 Helmholtzstraße 20\n City: 01069 Dresden\n Phone: \n Fax: \nDescriptio
n: We will discuss the synthesis\, electronic properties\, and magnetic st
 ructure of thin-film RuO&amp\;amp\;#8322\;\, a Dirac semimetal1 and a lead
ing catalyst for oxygen evolution in electrochemical water splitting.2\,3
While recent claims of altermagnetism4\,5 are currently challenged\,6\,7 t
he debate has rekindled interest in electron correlation phenomena in RuO&
amp\;amp\;#8322\;.. Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) reve
als strong Fermi surface nesting\, suggesting a propensity for electron co
rrelations. At the RuO&amp\;amp\;#8322\; (110) surface\, these correlation
s appear to promote a charge density wave instability that can be directly
probed via scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). Keywords: ARPES\, STM\, R
uO2\, Flat Surface State\, Altermagnetism\, Charge Density Wave. Acknowled
