 lte C. Gather is Humboldt Professor and founding director of the Centre fo
 r Nano- and Biophotonics at University of Cologne and holds a co-appointme
 nt at University of St Andrews. His research interests are at the interfac
 e of organic electronics and biophotonics\, with particular focus on OLED 
 optics\, strong light-matter coupling\, implantable OLEDs and organic lase
 rs. He studied physics and material sciences at RWTH Aachen University and
  Imperial College London and received his PhD from University of Cologne i
 n 2008. He previously worked at University of Iceland\, Harvard University
 \, and TU Dresden.</p>
