Description

The Einstein Telescope will be a ground-based gravitational-wave observatory of the 3rd generation promising substantial advances in astrophysics and cosmology. This presentation will give an overview about the phenomena which will be studied by the telescope and the questions which will be answered based on the observations. Furthermore, the current status of the site selection procedure will be presented. As Saxony is one of the three candidate regions, the TUD and especially the IKTP are contributing to this process by performing feasibility studies.
